Free State matrics scored the highest pass rate for 2013, Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga announced on Monday, 06 January 2014, and the pass rate is 78.2 percent.
Achievements according to Provinces:
– Free State – 87.4%
– North West – 87.2%
– Gauteng – 87%
– Western Cape – 85.1%
– KwaZulu-Natal – 77.4%
– Mpumalanga – 77.6%
– Northern Cape – 74.5%
– Limpopo – 71.8%
– Eastern Cape – 64.9%.
There were a total of 562 112 full-time pupils for 2013.
