100 Unemployed Northen Cape Youth to Build 100 Houses

A total of 100 unemployed and out of school youth from Northern Cape will get an opportunity to build 100 low-cost houses at Phokwane Local Municipality in Jan Kemp Dorp, as part of the National Youth Development Agency’s YouthBuild Project.
The 100 youth have received training as part of the YouthBuild programme and the implementation of this project in the Northern Cape gives them an opportunity to put their acquired skills into practice.
The National Youth Development Agency is implementing the YouthBuild Northern Cape Project which will see 100 out-of-school youth training and using the skills to build 100 low-cost houses in the Phokwane Local Municipality in Jan Kemp Dorp, Northern Cape.
Done in partnership with the Department of Human Settlements, Frances Baard District Municipality, the Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs as well as the National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC), the launch of the YouthBuild Northern Cape project will see political leaders and other stakeholders take part in the building of one of the houses.
Two houses that have been completed as part of this project will also be unveiled and handed over to beneficiaries. The unveiling will be followed by a community engagement meeting to outline the different aspects of the YouthBuild initiative.
