Gauteng Education hiring unemployed individuals to work as examination assistants

For roles as Exam Assistants and Quality Assurers.

The Gauteng Education Department is now hiring support teams for Matric exam marking in 2025.

The department is hiring Examination Assistant (x294) and Quality Assurers (x951) to help ensure the marking process runs smoothly and fairly.

This includes 270 assistant positions and 1,058 quality assurance spots.

Quality Assurer posts will be stationed in various schools, while assistants will work at marking centres across the province.

To qualify, you’ll need a Senior Certificate, NSC, or NSC Vocational qualification.

Applicants must be current tertiary students, unemployed graduates, or job seekers with a tertiary qualification.

Grade 12-level Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy is a must-have.

Second-year or higher tertiary students will stand a better chance of selection.

Please indicate previous experience in examinations administration as an Examination Assistant / Quality Assurer [ District Office / Marking Centre or Office based]. The nature of the work is linked to tight deadlines and thus requires that the successful candidate be able to work under pressure.
