METRO FM is looking for a fresh new radio talent to become the next co-host of its Summer Show.

Entries for The Next Wave competition are now open and will close on 31 October.

The competition runs from 1 August to 31 October and is open to South African citizens and permanent residents aged 18 to 35 who have an active public social media presence.

To enter, hopefuls must email an original 60-second video to thenextwave@metrofm.co.za, introducing themselves, explaining why they deserve to become the next METRO FM Summer Show co-host, and what makes them stand out.

Each entry must include:

  • Full name
  • Age
  • City or province
  • Contact number
  • Email address
  • Social media handles

Only one entry per person will be accepted, while late, incomplete or duplicate submissions will not be considered.

Between 1 and 30 November, eligible entries will be judged on personality, creativity, presentation skills, authenticity, radio potential and audience appeal. The top four finalists will advance to live auditions, with public voting potentially forming part of the final selection process.

The winner will join the METRO FM Summer Show as co-host, take part in station promotional activities and gain national exposure across the station’s platforms.
