Iwisa No.1 searching for young designer to create its 2026 Promoter Uniform

Between the ages of 18 and 35.

Famous South African maize meal brand Iwisa No.1 is searching for a young designer to create its 2026 Promoter Uniform as it celebrates 70 years.


The 2026 Fills Bold Designer Search is now open to South Africans aged 18 to 35, giving young creatives the chance to design a sports-streetwear collection inspired by Iwisa No.1, South African culture and today’s youth style.

The winning design will become the official Iwisa No.1 Promoter Uniform and include:

  • Collared jersey
  • Straight-leg jogger
  • Bucket hat
  • Tote bag
  • Socks

Here’s what’s up for grabs:

  • 1st place: MacBook Pro worth up to R35,000 + R10,000 cash + the chance to design the official uniform.
  • 2nd place: iPad worth up to R15,000 + Apple Pencil worth up to R2,000 + R5,000 cash.
  • 3rd place: Noise-cancelling earphones + R5,000 cash.

Iwisa No.1, launched in 1956, is marking its 70th anniversary by looking to the next generation to help shape its future.

Last year’s winner, Best Ncube, returns as one of this year’s lead ambassadors.
