The University of Johannesburg has confirmed the passing of one of its students (an 18-year-old male) during a shooting incident where a gunman killed two men in a parked car on a busy street in Johannesburg on Thursday, 29 February 2024.
Another student got injured and is recovering in the hospital.
The two students were among the students who were traveling in a bus from the university to their places of residence in Johannesburg City Centre and were caught in this shootout crossfire.
The deceased, an 18-year-old male, was a second-year student.
