If you’re studying at a TVET college and need financial help, NSFAS has opened applications for Trimester 3 of 2026.
Applications opened on 14 August 2026 and close on 23 August 2026, giving students just 10 days to apply.
The funding is available to students studying approved courses at approved TVET colleges.
NSFAS funding can help cover some of the highest costs that come with studying. This includes:
- Tuition and registration fees
- Food
- Accommodation
- Learning materials
The support is aimed at students from poor and working-class households who may struggle to afford tertiary education.
There is an important catch, though: these applications are only for students who want to study during Trimester 3 of 2026.
If you are looking for NSFAS funding for 2027, you should not apply during this application period. Those applications will open later.
For Trimester 3, students need to submit their applications through the official myNSFAS portal.
The application process remains the same as in the first NSFAS application cycle of 2026.
So, if you need funding for your TVET studies this trimester, don’t leave it until the last minute.
You have until 23 August to submit your application.
