Global music platform COLORSxSTUDIOS and Levi’s are turning their attention to South Africa, with lordkez becoming the latest artist selected for their EMERGENT programme.
The initiative highlights rising musicians from different parts of the world, and lordkez now joins a growing list of artists receiving an international spotlight. Her introduction comes through a new A COLORS SHOW performance released on 1 June, where she premieres “Wena Fela,” a previously unheard track from her upcoming project.
Known for her soulful vocals and thoughtful songwriting, lordkez has become one of South Africa’s most respected contemporary R&B artists. Her 2023 release Testament earned her a SAMA for Best RnB/Soul Album, while recent hit “Aweh” further expanded her audience.
The campaign extends beyond music. Two companion films give fans a closer look at the artist behind the songs. “Side A / Side B” explores the objects, memories and influences that have shaped her journey, while “5:01” offers a personal reflection on identity, growth and creativity.
Reflecting on her journey, lordkez said, “The journey in discovering my personal identity has happened through my greatest passion which is making music.” She added that being chosen for EMERGENT and representing where she comes from on a worldwide stage is “a huge honour for me.”
lordkez is one of six artists being featured across the programme’s international rollout throughout 2026.
