June 2026 brings a wide range of internship and graduate opportunities across South Africa for young people looking to gain valuable workplace experience.
From media, retail and finance to engineering, tourism, healthcare and government, several organisations have opened applications for programmes designed to help graduates and first-time job seekers build their skills and gain industry exposure.
Among the opportunities currently available are internships and graduate programmes at YFM’s Y Academy, Rand Water, Sanlam, SAHPRA, Pepkor, the City of Johannesburg, TFG, SANParks and the North West Department of Human Settlements. Rand Water – Graduate Opportunities 2026
Location: Johannesburg South, Gauteng

About: Rand Water’s three-year graduate programme gives unemployed graduates workplace exposure and technical/professional development across multiple streams, including Chemistry, Auditing, Civil Engineering/Geomatics, Electrical Engineering, Treasury, Admin, Health & Safety, Mechanical Engineering, Library Science, Finance and more.
Requirements: Relevant qualification for the chosen stream; the learnership stream additionally requires South African citizenship, age 18–35, and Matric with the specified subject passes.

Sanlam – Graduate Intern: E-Consultant Internship 2026
Closing Date: 12 June 2026
About: This is a 12-month financial services internship in SanlamConnect’s E-Hub, where interns support brokers through phone, email and web-based servicing while receiving training, coaching and business exposure.
Requirements: Matric plus a relevant qualification in Financial Services, Wealth Management, Commerce or Marketing; applicants should be unemployed and preferably have little or no prior work experience.

SAHPRA – Internship Programme 2026/2027

About: SAHPRA is offering six 12-month graduate internships in the Health Products Authorisations Unit and the Inspectorate and Regulatory Compliance Unit, with a stipend of R16,666.66 per month.
Requirements: South African citizen, unemployed graduate, no previous internship participation, Matric, and a National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Sciences, Health Sciences or a related field at NQF 6 or 7.

Pepkor – Internship Opportunities 2026

About: Pepkor Lifestyle is running a 12–18 month wholesale and retail SETA-funded internship programme for graduates and TVET students, with streams under Group Human Resources and the Retail Division.
